2015 Fall Newsletter

Dear Friends of the Braille Circulating Library,

As a reminder to me when I face challenging and perplexing times in my life, I have a sticky note on my desk lamp with the following words written on it, “Faith never gives up. It knows that despite appearances, all is well. It can wait without signs or significant indications that God is at work, because it is sure of Him.” I Corinthians 5:7 states, “For we walk by faith, not by sight.” I know that if I allow myself to focus on the decisions and actions of some that can thwart ministry opportunities or cause personal difficulties, I can be tempted to give up and lose sight of the fact that God is still in control. I find encouragement in the insightful words in the devotional book JESUS CALLING, “TRUST ME, and don’t be afraid. I want you to view trails as exercises designed to develop your trust-muscles. You live in the midst of fierce spiritual battles, and fear is one of Satan’s favorite weapons. When you start to feel afraid, affirm your trust in Me.”

Praises and Prayer Requests:
1. I praise the Lord for Bill Jeffries’ continued work on the renovation of the BCL building.
2. I am thankful for the wonderful friendships with the neighbors of the BCL.
3. I am thankful for the positive responses from the BCL patrons for our services.
4. I am asking you to pray for God’s continued protection and provision for the BCL.
5. I ask that you pray for the Lord to touch the hearts of the foundation decision makers in regard to the grant requests for operating funding for the BCL.
6. I want to share one final personal prayer request: My wife recently lost her job as a result of a company merger. As a consequence, we have not only lost her income but also our medical coverage. My wife is still taking a number of medications from her battle with breast cancer. The loss of her job and the medical coverage is a great concern to us. Please pray for the Lord’s protection and provision in this matter. Thank you.

Thank you for your support of the Braille Circulating Library. Your prayers and financial support are a tremendous blessing and encouragement to me. Thank you also for your prayers for me and my wife at this time. Although my “faith trust-muscles” are being seriously exercised at this time, I am thankful for the last five words that are on that sticky note on my desk lamp, “IT IS SURE OF HIM”.

Thank you once again.
Serving Him,
