2015 Spring Newsletter

Dear Friends of the Braille Circulating Library,

“Give up the illusion that you deserve a problem-free life. Part of you is still hungering for the resolution of all difficulties. This is false hope! As I told My disciples, in the world you will have trouble…When things seem all wrong, trust Me anyway. I am much less interested in right circumstances than in right responses to whatever comes your way.” Those words, from the devotional book JESUS CALLING, have been a tremendous encouragement to me as I reflect back on the 13 years that I have been privileged to serve as the Executive Director of the BCL. There were many times when the “circumstances” were difficult and far from being described as “right”, but time after time the Lord proved Himself to me, to assure me, that the BCL is His ministry. What He wanted was for me to trust Him, and to learn to respond rightly in whatever came my way. I am so very thankful for the lessons I’ve learned as I have witnessed God’s hand at work in protecting and providing for the BCL.

I praise the Lord for His continued provision in the BCL building renovation project. I do not have the words to express my gratitude to Bill Jeffries for his tireless work in heading up this massive project. When I last saw Bill, he had finished installing the new windows and repaired the parapet on the east side of the BCL building and started the removable the old stairs and porch of the main entrance. I am convinced that these improvements to the BCL building will play an important role as the ministry of the BCL moves ahead.

Please pray for the following items: (1) The BCL is seeking to produce the inspiring devotional book, JESUS CALLING, in Braille format. Please pray that the Lord will open the doors for the BCL to make this available for our patrons. (2) The BCL is seeking to produce a Spanish version of the OUR DAILY BREAD daily devotional in an audio format. Please pray that the BCL will be able to see this come to pass and that we will be able to expand our ministry to the Spanish speaking blind community. (3) Please pray that the Lord will continue to see fit to provide for the daily operating expenses for the BCL. Pray that the hearts of God’s people will be touched to financially support the ministry of the BCL.

The BCL has been and will always be God’s unique ministry. As the BCL moves toward its 100 year anniversary, I am sure that in these next 10 years that we will face challenging circumstances. But, we move ahead with confidence that our Lord is above all circumstances, and the best days of the BCL are still to come. Thank you for your support of the BCL. May the Lord pour out His blessings upon you as you bless us with your prayers and financial support. Thank you.

Serving Him,
